Dear Oaxaca,

On your soil, I found myself again. wild, free, and real. the caressing of my body like it were yours alone. justified of all its passion, fierceness, anger, triste. the melancholy of being so in love with how you burst my heart open. every single beating breath splitting apart the crudely threaded corners of my under-fed

human heart. flowing with you is a long lost sweat fueled sueño. vibrant, brutal, exhaustingly beautiful. you make me a poet once more, reviving those parts of me that so needed nourishing. like a mother feeding her womb, praying for safe passage. your earth stays open, a container for all who dare venture those dried, cracked fields. courageous and bold, feet planted deep in your ancient stories. hope is an understatement for the gifts you've granted me. faith in the great universal spirit, the one that binds me to you and you to me. yes, faith is what you've given me. in this process that is ever expanding, ever growing, ever returning to our truest nature once again.

With love.
